CSR and Sustainability
Sustainable relationships with customers, suppliers and employees: that explains the success of Dulimex. The active pursuit of these lasting relationships; we are all committed to this within our international trading company.
Sustainability plays an important role in construction and industry, our daily work area. Partly thanks to our international experience, we can see that it is really possible to make a difference through corporate social responsibility. This ensures that we are continuously aware of the importance thereof, the challenges that this entails and the responsibility that we as Dulimex can and want to take in this.
Sustainable products are high-quality products. Every day, we are involved in controlling and further optimising the quality of our products, as well as that of our processes and services.
We will further explain the above three themes from our CSR policy below, under the headings Working conditions, Environment and Quality.
Working Conditions
People who feel comfortable are more motivated, more enthusiastic and perform better. At Dulimex we therefore work in an open corporate culture, in which everyone feels free to express themselves. These can be fresh ideas, but also points for improvement for our organisation.
Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA)
Working safely is a precondition, which is why we apply up-to-date hazard identification and risk assessments. For example, we continuously monitor whether our working environment still meets the conditions set by us.
Furthermore, all our employees are offered preventive medical examinations (PME) on a voluntary basis. This is intended to map out the lifestyle, work ability and health risks of our employees and to respond to this, if necessary. The outcome of the PME is of course discussed with the relevant employee only. Our goal is to actively contribute to both the well-being and feel-good factor of our employees.
Training opportunities
Dulimex wants to continue to develop as an organisation. And for that we really need our people. Offering professional training opportunities is therefore indispensable. Our employees are offered study and training courses, enabling them to develop certain competencies, such as problem-solving and communication skills. This allows for more effective and smarter work. By empowering our employees, we grow as a whole.
Rules of conduct and integrity
We believe it is important that the values and manners we pursue within Dulimex are clear to everyone. We have therefore laid down a number of house rules as part of our company regulations. We discuss these house rules with new employees in advance and ask them to endorse them with a signature. Subjects covered include:
- Undesirable behaviour (sexual harassment and discrimination)
- Aggression and violence policy
- Smoking, alcohol and drugs policy
- Working safely
Equal opportunities, also for people with poor job prospects
We believe it is our responsibility to provide equal opportunities for everyone.
That is why Dulimex works together with Lucrato, a public employment service. This organisation assists people with poor job prospect when they re-enter the labour market. Activities include carrying out light logistics tasks.
The environment
Dulimex is convinced that a sustainable future starts with a healthy balance between people, planet and profit. A win-win situation for our company, our relations and our environment.
Sustainable purchasing
Dulimex wants to establish a mutually intensive and long-term cooperation with its suppliers. This enables us to take social and environmental aspects into account, in addition to the price and quality of the services and products to be purchased. Dulimex interprets sustainable purchasing as follows:
- Only purchase what is necessary and provide sufficient added value.
- Where applicable we're using recyclable packaging material.
- Importing products that comply with European and national legislation, such as the RoHS directive and REACH legislation (presence of harmful chemicals). In 2012, the container gases procedure was drawn up and implemented.
- Control of production conditions at our suppliers. We visit the production location of our suppliers on a regular basis, both in Europe and in Asia.
Minimising Energy Consumption
Raising awareness is an important factor in reducing energy consumption. That is why we are committed to:
- Raising awareness among employees of the necessity and benefits of working more energy-efficiently (switching off PCs, doing more electronically).
- Screening our location for energy-saving possibilities (LED lighting in warehouse and office based on motion sensors).
- Using clean(er) energy (green electricity).
Reducing waste streams
We want to minimise waste. Where possible, we offer waste that we cannot prevent from occurring for recycling.
Quality
Doing business with Dulimex is a smart choice, because our products meet the correct certifications and quality marks, as and when needed. This confirms the quality of our products. Yet quality is also evident from the knowledge of our employees, the advice they give and the satisfaction of our customers. Every day, we are committed to controlling and further optimising the quality of our processes, products and services. And the ISO 9001:2015 certification shows that we guarantee this. In short, the policy on quality comes down to:
- Delivering high-quality products combined with an effective logistical performance and excellent service.
- Customer satisfaction; ensuring maximum satisfaction and happy customers.
- Customer experience; consistently meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations.
- Employees with excellent skills and knowledge of our products and the markets in which we operate.
