A stronger product, produced even more efficiently and consistently

Every day we are involved in controlling and further optimizing the quality of our processes, products and services. Even if it does not always seem necessary immediately, we are still investigating how it can be done better.

This is also the case in the production of our steel 3 mm SKG ball bearing hinges, nylon sliding bearing hinges and flag hinges. Over the past six months we have worked with our supplier to find a solution to make the product even stronger. The end result is impressive. From now on these hinges and flag hinges are supplied with a thief pin that is attached to the top with a screw. Much stronger and more consistent than a welded-on thief pin and also much easier and faster to mount.

During this collaboration with our supplier our slogan "Making Strong Connections" has fallen info place.

Product manager Jan Ooms explains:
"A product is only as strong as its weakest link and in our experience it is the weld seam at the thief's pin with these hinges. So, together with our supplier, we went in search of another solution for attaching the thief's pin. After several tests it turned out that the choice for a screw fastening turned out to be a good one. This was also confirmed in the SKG test. The results at SKG meet the requirements and even more than that. In addition, production is also more efficiently and consistently and the products can now be guided even faster through our quality controls!"

End result: An even stronger product, efficiently and consistently produced.
