Throughout the entire late summer, we enjoyed beautiful weather. We thought this boded well for the Dulimex barbecue. That was until it started pouring on Thursday afternoon, October 12. Coincidentally, that was the day of the barbecue. Fortunately, the organizers were well-prepared. By 5:00 PM, the tents and heaters were set up, the barbecue was blazing in the trunk of an old Chevrolet, and thankfully, it was mostly dry again. Quality over quantity was the theme, and it was definitely a success!
Locally appreciated Butcher ter Weele provided us with this delightful barbecue featuring meat that mostly comes directly from the Veluwe. We indulged in delicacies such as venison loin, veal ribeye, and delicious steak complemented by grilled vegetables, french baguette, and salads. Everything was prepared with care, and we could certainly taste it!
The atmosphere and setup of the barbecue were fantastic and enhanced by the presence of a large American Chevrolet with one of the barbecues in the back. Large cuts of meat were grilled whole for the ultimate cooking experience, and then expertly sliced into beautiful pieces for everyone to enjoy. And oh, how tender it was!
Certainly, the annual barbecue is the perfect opportunity to chat with colleagues from other departments for a bit longer. While enjoying some food and drinks, we truly had a good time. It was excellently organized – thanks, Jan and Jeffrey!
