Escape door (NEN-EN 1125)
In buildings that can be freely accessed by the public, visitors are not familiar with the escape route. Panic can arise in the event of an emergency. Visitors must be able to find their way to the emergency exit without obstacles and be able to open it without thinking. This escape route is bound by the minimum requirements of NEN-EN 1125 for escape doors. Panic exit hardware with a push bar or push rod is a requirement. Emergency door (NEN-EN 179)
People are deemed familiar with the escape route in buildings with limited access. In the event of an emergency, everyone knows how to find and open the emergency door. The escape route is bound by the minimum requirements laid down in NEN-EN 179 for emergency doors. In this case, the emergency door must at least be fitted with a push pad.
