Container ship carrying HQ 40ft sea container breaks all Dulimex records!

In case you are thinking of a container ship in 2021 there is a good chance that the container ship that blocked the Suez Canal will come to mind. At Dulimex we will always remember another ship from 2021. On June 9th the container ship HMM Raon sailed from China with the HQ 40 ft sea container on it which breaks all records for Dulimex!

This is the largest, heaviest and most expensive container ever delivered to Dulimex! We all know that the Corona pandemic hit China first and transport costs have risen exorbitantly as a result. Unfortunately the port normally used by our manufacturers was also hit by Corona, with the result that the entire logistics ended up in chaos. All storage facilities were full and delivery in the port became an impossible task as can be seen on the photo.

Innovative solution
An innovative solution for the delivery of our goods was required. Fortunately we have found one of our manufacturers willing to collect our deliveries and ship the goods in one large container.

Efficiency
Our responsible purchaser and product manager Jan Ooms explains:
"Thanks to the good cooperation with our purchasing office and the willingness of our manufacturers we were able to switch quickly. The increase in scale ensures that we are able to get our goods to our warehouse in Vaassen the Netherlands as quickly and efficiently as possible. With at least a week time savings! And all this despite the corona pandemic and huge transport price increases. This is something to be proud of”.
